I'm fairly new to ACT! and have been asked to clean up my company's database which consists of several groups which include duplicate contacts. If I export each group to Excel, filter for duplicates and then import each group back into ACT! how do I also ensure the duplicate contacts are removed from the Contact List? Is this the best approach to take to cleaning things up?

For duplicates I would suggest that you look under tools and select scan for duplicates. I think the rest would be self explanatory. You will be able to remove duplicates that way as well.
