Close ACT. Right click on ACT icon and select Run as administrator. (This gives you  Windows administrator rights.)

Re: NOTE Section is so big

Not sure that the "fix" is better than the problem. There appears to be a blank line at the start of all new and edited Notes now.

This "FIX" made it worse.  Any idea when the next fix is coming out?

Re: NOTE Section is so big

Observations on v22 UPDATE 3  and temporary work around we are using related to the Notes size and fonts.

Font sizes seem to work correctly when changed for “Notes Tab”, and for “Notes Detail Composition” via Tools / Preferences / Colors & Fonts.  However, a new problem now shows up that has a blank line at the top of the note preview pane.  With the default settings this will generally hide new notes in the preview pane, but you can change fonts to get most of the preview back.  The blank line at the top will continue until ACT! fixes this.

Temporary Work Around (until ACT! fixes this properly)

  • Change the “Notes Tab” Font size to 14 or 16, and also increase the “Notes detail Composition” size to about 14, this will then allow the notes to show in the preview pane up to the first manual line break.   You will need to change the column width for the Date & Time Columns or those lines will wrap and that doesn't look very good.
  • The preview pane is now limited to four lines of text maximum, and if you add a manual line break (press the ENTER Key) it will only show the text that precedes the blank line, even if you only have one word on the first line.
  • Font default setting – The Detail Notes Composition font seems to have a minimum size of 11 point that is used even if the standard default of Microsoft Sans Serif, 8 is set. If you change to a larger font those settings do see to work correctly.

This isn’t great, but at least it creates a management environment for most users.

I did the update and the Notes are still being entered and displayed incorrectly.
