MySQL Stopping for no reason

The SQL Server (Act 7) seems to stop at random times.  Act stops responding and I have to open up SQL Server Configuration Manager to start it manually.  I am running XP SP3.

Will the Act! 11.1 sevice pack fix that?  Is it a MS MySQL service pack 3 issue?

I have searched the forums and can't find the answer.  Please help.

Thank you.

Re: MySQL Stopping for no reason

Is SQL Server 2005 SP3 is failing to install?  This could stop the service because of the fails attempts.  Follow the KB article below to install the service pack.

How To Apply the Microsoft® SQL Server® 2005 Service Pack 3

Re: MySQL Stopping for no reason

SQL is failing to install.  Upon running the link you indicated, I get the following error at the last stage:

Machine         : GATEWAY
Product         : Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition
Product Version : 9.3.4035.00
Install         : Failed
Log File        : C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Setup

Bootstrap\LOG\Files\SQLSetup0002_GATEWAY_SQL.log
Error Number    : 1612

I appreciate that this is a Microsoft issue and not a Sage issue, but if you have any tips, they would be appreciated.

Re: MySQL Stopping for no reason

Thanks for finding this.

I ran the uninstall cleaner and tried to remove part of the MySQL that my log fire indicated there was a problem with.

Then rebooted, ran automatic updates, and tried to reinstall Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition Service Pack 3.

Seems now that I am getting the  "Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition Service Pack 3 (KB955706)" error.

I consider this a good thing as at least my problem seems consistent with others.  I'll look at the forums and see if I can figure this one out.

Thanks for keeping on this!
