My DB is messed up

- ACT! Pro Ver 16.0.291.0. Hot Fix 5

- Database is on local machine and being shared with another PC.

- Installed on Windows 7 32bit

- I have a serious DB related issue that sometimes all contact details are messed up.

For exampe, All Documents for 'Contact A' belong to 'Contact B', and this happens to all contacts.

When this happens, I just restore the DB from the backup, but it continuously happens like once a week...

so I just want to know what I should do to prevent this issue from happening again..

Thank you.

[ Edited ]

That does not sound good for ACT! v16?

Untiil Swiftpage looks into and resolves that issue, recommend taking frequent DB and Personal file Backups(DAILY).

This free tool will help you manage your ACT! Backups http://fillstaff.com/backupfolderspro.html

Then after taking backups, recommend you Close ACT! and run ACTDIAG

Run the DB Rebuild options.

Then Detach the database

Close ACTDIAG

Then in your my documents / act / act data /  databases delete your .pad file and open your .adf file to re-create your .pad file.

When you open your act db, act! will re-verify your db.

That may resolve your issue?

I run the actdiag db rebuild options monthly to maintain my databases.

Re: My DB is messed up

Have you ever tried doing database maintenance to see if that repairs the problem?
