HI: I'm trying to move my ACT database and all contents to a new laptop. Both laptops are Windows 8.1. I've tried to backup database but the new computer doesn't recognize my password. I changed my password on original computer, still didn't work.

Are you doing a Restore As on the new computer. Restore can only be done to the original computer.

You need to use the Restore As option.

THANKS ROY! I know you probably think this was the easiest question of the milllenium but I've been trying to get this to work for days. I appreciate you advice and quick response.
