Re: Missing Alf Files

Just use Backup and copy the ZIP file.

The the client can use Restore | Restore As

You cannot simply copy the files - it won't properly copy and the PAD file is machine specific.

Re: Missing Alf Files

How are you trying to transfer the files? Do not just try and copy the files to a CD... they will most likely not work.

Do a File | backup to the C: drive and copy the ZIP file to the CD

Re: Missing Alf Files

Mike, thanks for replying. I close act after putting new data in then i have been told to close the program via the SQL server then restart the program and then the files should appear in my acts folder. but the alf files dont show up?

I am running this database for a client and have to hand over a back up tomorrow so they can add it to their act database.

Any more thoughts?

Cheers

Bill
