OrdinaryGuy,

Which version of ACT! are you using (Help | About ACT!)?

ACT! by Sage 2008 (10.0) Version 10.0.1.199

Thanks

Re: Missing Act Tab and field list in MS Word 2002

First close ACT! and Word/Outlook

Install these two files from the ACT! installation CD.  They are located in the Dependencies folder.

extensibilityMSM.msi
lockbackRegKey.msi

If you receive this message when installing, it means its already installed - "The system administrator has set policies to prevent this installation."

After doing so, you'll need to go into the registry (Start | Run | regedit) and go to the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\Word\Addins\ACT7.OfficeAddIn

On the right pane, you see LoadBehavior.  Double click it and change the value data to 3.

Re: Missing Act Tab and field list in MS Word 2002

I was having same problem as Ordinary Guy,  this fixed me!  Thanks.  I was wondering if you could help with another questions I have.  Is there a way to add new templates I create to the drop down menu or can I only access them through the "other docuements" drop down item?  Act comes with a nice array of templates to start with but most of them require some modification to work precisely how I want to communicate with my customers.  It would be great if I could easily access the ones I will use most commonly through the drop down menu instead of trying to hunt through the file list.

cicarto,

Yes, you can add your custom templates to the write menu.  Follow the link below.
