Migration from ACT2009v7 on Windows server 2003 to ACT2013 on Windows Server 2012

We are running ACT2007v9 on a Windows 2003 Server and XP Pro SP3 Workstations with Office 2003.

We are getting a new server, Windows Server 2012 which is 64 bit.... and are purchasing ACT 2013 Licenses. Workstations will remain as is until after the first of the year.

I see KB documents on moving from one machine to another, but not much on moving to another machine AND upgrading.

Is there a doument somewhere that addresses this, particularly for these hardware platforms and software versions.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Tomster2,

Welcome to the Act! Community forum!

They are two documents because they are two operations.  First you move the database, then when you open the database it will request to update to the current version.  Once the update is done, and the workstations are updated to 2013 they will be able to access the database.  Act! 2013 knows what to do with a restored 2007 file.  Just use the Restore As feature in that article.

Move database: http://kb.swiftpage.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/19818/kw/move%20database

Convert: http://kb.swiftpage.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/30313/kw/convert%20to%202013
