Microsoft has encountered a problem and has had to close ACT

I have had ACT 2009 installed for nearly 1 year but have been getting this error in the past 30 days or so causing ACT 2009 to close a couple times a week.  Any ideas why this is occurring and what to do to stop the conflict?

I had the same problem.  I accused them of programming a bug in that would drive us crazy just in time for the release of the new version......they suggested I'm crazy paranoid!

What operating system and service pack level are we dealing with here?

Out of couriosity, Windows XP Service Pack 3 has been available as a free download  / update from Microsoft update since May of 2008 and push as an Automatic update since July 2008.

 

Is there a specific reason you have not updated?

 

Just asking is all.

No reason, automatics scans for updates haven't recommended it on my system.

I have XP and SP#3 and am receiving the same errors.  Just posted this last night but have been receiving these erros over the past month or so.

Please do this.

 

Uninstall ACT!.

 

Invoke Microsoft Update and apply all critical and recommended updates to your machine and reboot as necessary.

 

Reinstall ACT

 

Try your scenario again.

 

Please post your results.

What is the exact version of ACT! that you have via Help|About in the ACT! application?
