Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Compact edition [ENU]

When upgrading to Act Pro 2011 is it nessesary to delete the SQL 2005 edition. I know that 2011 loades the SQL Server 2008, so i don't know if the 2005 Server needs to be deleted or can cause problems . Does anybody know. Thanks

Re: Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Compact edition [ENU]

You do not have to remove SQL 2005 before the installation of Act! 2011.  It will install SQL 2008 R2 and upgrade the SQL 2005 Act7 instance, but it will not uninstall the SQL 2005 program.  It will leave SQL 2005 intact in case other programs are using it.  Leaving SQL 2005 will not affect the SQL 2008 installation, other than using some additional system resources.  You can uninstall the SQL 2005 program without affecting SQL 2008 (assuming no other programs are using SQL 2005).
