Microsoft Outlook 2003 wont recognise ACT database

I run office 2003 home edition and ACT 8, but when I try to add the "new address book", the ACT address book dosen't appear in the window. I only see the "personal address book" and "outlook addres book".

I have done this on a number of occasions on other machines and cannot understand why this system won't recognise it.

Please help?

Re: Microsoft Outlook 2003 wont recognise ACT database

Mahtneb,

Check disabled items (Help | About Microsoft Outlook | Disabled Items) and the add-in manager to see if ACT! Extensions are present.

To access the add-in manager, go to the Tools menu and select Options.

Click Other tab and then Advanced Options.

Click Add-in Manager and make sure ACT! Extensions is checked.

If its missing completely, it will require you to reinstall ACT!.

Re: Microsoft Outlook 2003 wont recognise ACT database

I have the ACT! Extension checked and still cannot attach e-mails to contacts. The ACT! Icon does not appear in Outlook either. Will upgrading to ACT! 2009 solve this problem?

Thanks for you help!
