I have just updated to ACT 2010 and have just completed setting up the new contact fields, etc. in tools. Now when I move around the database to lookup, etc. I get a message "object reference not set to an instance of an object" each time. What do I need to do to get rid of that message?
Also, when I am in "List View" and click on a name and try to open it in the "Detail View" it always takes me to the 1st name in that look up - not the name I want. What has happened to that?

First I would run maintenance on your database - go to Tools > Database Maintenance > select Check and Repair.

I recommend that you skip to the section that describes how to do this manually and rename the files instead of deleting them.
