Managing Contacts

How to you manage contacts if:

  • They become deceased
  • They divorce
  • They retire
  • Change their last name

I have the Ac4Advisors Add-on, and have Sage ACT! Pro 2011 Version 13.1.111.0, Hotfix 1

Are there specific ways to deal with contacts that fit this criteria?

Re: Managing Contacts

Hot 6 is for the SP1 build of 2011 (13.1.111). You will first need to apply Service Pack 1, then apply Hot Fix 6. Information and download for SP1 is in this Knowledgebase article:

Note: Effective 6/1/13, Sage no longers provides support for the Act! software. This is now provided by Swiftpage.

Re: Managing Contacts

Hello David,
The most common way to manage contact status is by indicating that status in a field. You can use the standard ID/Status field or create your own custom field. In addition, you can use that field status to group your contacts in a Group. More information on Groups is in this Knowledgebase article:
http://kb.Sagesoftwareonline.com/cgi-bin/Sagesoftwareonline.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=1286...

Also, noting that you are on Hot Fix 1, you can apply the latest cumulative hot fix for ACT! 2011 (13.1) from this KB article:

Re: Managing Contacts

[ Edited ]

Thank you, I've been using dynamic grouping for a while now via ID/Status and Client Type with the Act4Advisors add-on. They are great tools!

Now I have a question about the hotfix you provided. I was able to update three computers to Hotfix 6 from Hotfix 1, but two different computers are currently on Hotfix 2 and I am unable to upgrade them to Hotfix 6. An error pops up that explains that the hotfix cannot be applied because the current version of Act is not compatible.

Any way I can upgrade the two Hotfix 2 computers?

Both are: Sage ACT! Pro 2011 Version 13.0.401.0, Hot Fix 2

Thanks in advance.
