Our company uses ACT! via a network with shared files, and we haven't had any problems with the program since we started using it; however, we recently lost the latest version of our database and have absolutely no idea what happened to it. We do still have an older version of the database, but we were hoping to recover the latest database with the most current information in it. If anyone has any ideas about how to possibly retrieve our most current database, we would certainly be willing to try anything. Thanks a lot!
Whether or not you can recover the database depends on how it was lost. First check the Recyle Bin to see if it may be there. You can also do a search of all the hard drives on the host for the database. Your search parameter would be *.adf. This will locate all resident ACT! databases on that machine. You may also want to see if any of the users may have made a recent backup of the database on their local machines. Also, if you have any users syncronizing using a remote database, that remote can be converted to a main database. If none of these things help find the database, then you will have to restore an earlier backup or copy.
Note: Effective 6/1/13, Sage no longers provides support for the Act! software. This is now provided by Swiftpage.
