Lookup Records By Prior Employee - When Contact Not Created By Prior Employee

[ Edited ]

I have a user who has been removed from ACT and apparently all that person's contacts have been given to someone else.

I've been able to find some of them by looking up the record creator; however, that doesn't include contacts that were already existing and assigned to him while he was developing a list to import.

I did notice that some of those contacts show that a history entry would show his name.

Is there any way to do a search for ...

  • Record Creator DOES NOT START WITH name
    ----- AND ----
History has Record Manager showing name

  • Is there any other way to search for the prior employee's contact

Re: Lookup Records By Prior Employee - When Contact Not Created By Prior Employee

Hi John, you nearly have -

First using History List use his name as the keyword as the search.

Now use Create look up which will put all those records into a contact list

(ACT does not now allow you to narrow lookup from this point so we have too-)

Using a spare field (or creating one to use) Use Edit Replace and enter a value. (In my example I entered Test in a spare field User 8)

When this is done you will have all the records that Old User has changed in some way in the past with a values in the target field..

Now you can run a new lookup. Lookup User Field 8 = Test and Record Creator does not equal Old Users name as an advanced lookup or

Lookup user 8 = Old Users Name and then a second lookup USING NARROW LOOKUP option and Record Creator does not = Old Users Name.)

Sounds a lot but does not take long.
