Lookup Contact Activity not working properly ACT 2010

Doing a lookup for contact activity is not working as it should. I'm trying to filter the database for contacts that I HAVE contacted in the last 4 months with an email sent or a completed call in the History tab. Here are the steps I'm taking:

 

Lookup --> Contact Activity

select: Look for Contacts that have changed

Since date: 10/17/2011

deselect Contact Fields, Notes, Opportunities & Activities

select Histories --> Call Completed & Email sent

OK

 

For the most part, it's filtering properly. However, I did some spot checks in the resulting list and there are at least 50+ contacts where the history shows contact in 2009 and 2010 (!). Clearly the lookup contact activity cannot be trusted. Now I'm having to go through thousands of listings manually to double check that they're correct.

 

Is there something I can do to fix this? Any help is greatly appreciated.
