Looking up email addresses

As I FIX emails from blasts that go out - I do a LOOKUP by the last part of the email (bascially the website address) - is there a way to SET the lookup for emails field to stay FIXED on CONTAINS....instead of always having to change it from Starts with....

Would be helpful!

Re: Looking up email addresses

Hi Karin,

I had some users request this as well but there doesn't seem to be a way to change the default lookup to Contains. As a workaround, I've found that adding a '%' to the start of your search term as a wildcard causes the Starts With search to behave as a Contains.

You can try searching for Emails that Start With  "%hotmail.com" and it should return all Hotmail users for example.

Re: Looking up email addresses

Hello kkrober and welcome to the ACT community.

Looking up a specific eMail is verry easy:

Press Ctrl-D

Fill in as much of the eMail address you want.  The default should be "contains".

Re: Looking up email addresses

I am not sure I understand this - I want to find any emails that contain @xxx.com -  and the defalt when searching for emails is STARTS WITH - I want to CHANGE that so EVERY TIME I request a lookup via email it starts wtih CONTAINS

What does CTRL/D DO?

Re: Looking up email addresses

I can already do a search with @xxx.com - and find them my problem is that I have to do HUNDREDS and changing it each time to CONTAINS for the search is a pain.

Thanks for your help!

Re: Looking up email addresses

The % is the search wild card so adding that to the beginning of the search string allows use of the default Starts With instead of changing to Contains.
