Looking Up Companies or Contacts Problems Since SP1 Update

I've noticed that the lookup tables don't work since SP1.  For example:

 

When adding a contact in the relationship tab, I've learned to enter the last name, a comma, then the first name (if known).  The cursor will then go to the first location for that entry.   However, now if I enter a last name and a comma, it stops at the first instance of the last name and doesn't go further.  I can use the slide bar, but in the case of Smith or Jones, that takes quite a while. 

 

I've noticed this in other area of similar lookup including looking for a company. 

 

Is this a reported problem or is it a DEU -- Defective End User?

This is an issue that has been reported. It happens in multiple locations where that type of selection occurs. Unfortunately, at this time, there's no further information on the status of this issue.
