Hi Mike - apologies for not letting you know what happened earlier, but work took over.  After the sync back in the office - the message did not reappear.  It seems to be 'just one of those inexplicable occassional' things.   Thanks for trying to assist. - Carmel

It must not have been unlocked at the end of a previous sync that included a schema change and needed another sync to complete the task.

I had the same problem on my computer this morning.  It booted up, and said it was locked.  I had never seen the problem before, but the day before I had toggled the database lock/unlock key.  It asked me for a password, and I didn't enter one.  It then gave me a "blank" screen.

 

I'm concerned about the next time I'll turn this on.  What will it do then?   It took me almost 30 minutes to access my information bases (eventually I got in, but am not sure how).

In a shared database, it could have been another user with admin access doing something
