Layouts and new databases

ACT 10.0.3 user. Vista Ultimate. Outlook 2003.

I have altered the Layout [1024x768.cly] in my primary database and am very happy with the result.

From time to time I need to create a duplicate database [empty].

Problem is the new database, even though created from the primary database, loses the layout that I've created.

Is there a way to ensure changes to layouts made to the primary database are reflected in the new duplicate database?

Second question: Can I change the default folder for storing ACT templates. Same problem as above in that when I create a new database, the standard templates are placed in the templates folder for that database. I'd like a common folder for all databases so I can easily access my most used templates from any database rather than have 5 sets of templates residing in the templates folder of 5 different database?

cheers

Re: Layouts and new databases

1. You need to manually copy the modified layout to the new database.

2. No.
