Last Attempt Field

I want to take advantage of the Last Attempt field on the contact detail layout. I haven’t been able to find what triggers an entry into this field. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When you clear a call or Record a History of a call, you can mark it as Attempted.... this will record the history and update that field

How can we get the field to register for ALL activites including CUSTOM?

How can we create a field that could do exactly that.  For my company has custom activities for Outbound Call, Follow Up Call and even Final Attempt and we would like to have fields that auto-populate based on the last activity cleared

There is no "simple" way to do this with custom fields ...

The easiest way would be to just use the built-in Call activity and use the regarding for the different types... if that doesn't work for some reason, you'd need to have a some custom code written as a plug-in with the SDK
