Key in dictionary error message

ACT has crashed about 10 times today because I keep getting this error message about key is already in dictionary....somebody please help me before I throw the programme and the laptop in the bin!

Welcome to the Sage ACT! Community. A few questions to help the Community get a better understanding of the issue:
- What version of ACT! are you using (from Help > About ACT!)?
- What operating system is your computer using?
- Is your database shared on a network or local to your machine?
- What is the exact error message?
- What action(s) in the program are you taking when the error occurs?

sorry Greg!  Read my mind,,,,:-)

Act 2011 Pro, on a local machine and using Vista (grrrr)

It seems to happen when I have the edit box ticked, i change a field on a record, then start scrollling down.  Message reads

something about Key already in dictionary (of course I am now trying to force it to happen and it wont) and a big red cross appears right across the screen and I can still look at groups or email but not the records.  Very frustrating.  I will now hit send (to you) and will go back to the database and I bet it happens again.  lol.
