Just bought new Vostro, with Vista and McAfee, and ACT--can't create new database!!!!

Always getting the following error message: "Unable to create the database.  There is an error connecting to the Microsoft SQL Server."!!!!

 

I am home officing, thus no administrative network.  Read a bunch of blogs with NUMEROUS options, but I have to admit, I am not all that computer saavy.  I have used an older version of Act for years on another computer...What can I do to get this going and stop wasting hours trying to figure this out?!?!  Thanks for any help!!!!

It is likely that the A/V program is preventing access to SQL software OR that you did not install ACT! as Administrator.

 

For installation, ensure that you ran the setup.exe as administrator.

 

Try turning off or uninstalling the A/V program.
