Issue installing ACT 2010 on new Windows 7 Home Premium x64 laptop

Greetings,

I am trying to install ACT 2010 on my laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium and during the beginning of the installation process I receive the following error messag: "Your XP machine does not have Service PAck 3 applied. Windows XP Service Pack 3 is a minimum requirement to continue the ACT! installation."

It's strange I know, since this is a store-bought laptop:

Gateway Model NV79

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3 CPU 2.13GHz

RAM: 4.00 GB

64-bit Operating System

Any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance - Alex

Hello AllProAlex,

Welcome to the Act! Online Community!

This issue has been known to occur when the 'setup.exe' file is incorrectly set in compatibility mode.  Here is an article with instructions for correcting this setting: KB Article 26077
