Is It Possible To Duplicate An Activity Type - Then Rename It?

Is It Possible To Duplicate An Activity Type - Then Rename It?

Adding another activity type that will have the same activities as another type, but I want to separate it and take advantage of the open activities list but have a different Icon show in the F7 list.

*Edit - I appear to have misunderstood the question. However will leave this here as could be helpful for someone.*

Hi John,

The best way i could think of is to simply copy and paste the activity on the same contact. this would then allow you to edit the activity to how you would like without loss of the original.

The article is not directly for duplicating but shows the steps.

38506 How do I manually copy Notes, Histories, or Activities from one contact to another?

The short answer is no. If I read correct what you want to do is have a different activity type show in the task list and calendar but have the same history results for both activity types. The easy way to do that is to create a new custom activity and edit the results for that new activity type to the same as the first activity type.

Thanks to both Roy and Horn.

That's what I figured, but thought I would ask just the same.

Best regards to all,
