Integrating ACT! with VOIP system

Our firm recently switched to a VoIP.  Our VoIP is through TDS (Broadsoft) and the tool bar does not play well with ACT!  Anytime you try to use the toolbar in Outlook you receive an error message from ACT! and it then wipes out the toolbar.  Does anyone know of a solution to this problem - customer support and technical support both suggested using the add-on software, but they were real convincing and didn't know the minimum technical requirements.  Any input is greatly appreciated.  We currently use ACT! 10.0
