Installing demo

I have installed the 11.0 demo on a colleague's computer from my purchased installation disk. Her computer is running XP Home. I get an SQL error at the installation, but ACT seems to load okay. (I also have Outlook with Business Contact Manager installed, which runs on SQL) I attempted to update the demo and got an error message that it's the wrong version. I tried to apply the hotfix and got the same message.

 

Is this because it's not possible to update ACT in demo mode?

If you are running the trial version you should be able to update that to 11.1. Just make sure you applied the correct update (ie, Standard, Premium, Web). Also, what is the exact error message you are receiving when trying to apply the update?
