Installation Issue

I am trying to install act on 2 machines and share a database. I can do this if I turn off windows firewall on the host machine. When I turn the firewall back on it will not let me access the database on the second machine. I have tried adding Sage to the exception list but it still won't run. The host machine also has windows defender intalled but t does not see act as a permitted program. What do I need to do to get act to see the database on the second machine without disabling the firewall? Thanks

Re: Installation Issue

You will most likely need to add the SQL ports and SQL server as exceptions to the firewall as well. Please see the following KB articles for instructions to add firewall exceptions:

Windows Firewall: KB 19420

Commonly Used Firewalls: KB 25125

Note: Effective 6/1/13, Sage no longers provides support for the Act! software. This is now provided by Swiftpage.
