I am trying to install Act 16 on my new computer which is running a recently purchased copy of Windows 7.
The installer is giving me this message:
Error Number: 0x80040707
Description: DLL function call crashed: ISRT._RegQueryKeyValue
This is because the version of Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable the installer is trying to download is older than the one I have on the machine.
Does anyone know if there a patch or a fix for this or will I need to downgrade the version I currently have installed in order to proceed with installing Act 16?

This could actually be caused by pending Windows Updates. A lot of times a reboot can resolve this. I would recommend checking to see if Windows Updates had already caught an update but didn't finish applying it. Additionally, I would recommend the following Knowledgebase article for this issue:
