I try to install Act! 16 on a Windows 7 with the proper service pack. But it says please install that service before moving forward. Yet I have the service pack
I did get tech support - who did a bunch of things to get it to install
But I have have compatibility problems so I have to re-install it. Now I appears I have to call tech support again.
Can anyone help through me throught the steps to allow it to install properly WITHOUT tech support. I am expecting as I work through the compatibility issue I will probably have to re-install - but I don't want to have to call tech support everytime.

Will try to help- Just guessing. not enough info at this time.
Without knowing the exact error msg I am guessing. if it refers to you needing to update your act to the newest service pak / hot fix then you need to go to act download center and get latest service/hotfix such as hotfix5 manually
check your current version / build ACT / Help / About
if act version is current check your windows stuff
First - manually check for your windows updates
Second- look in your control panel programs features and insure that Microsoft .net framework 4.5 .. is installed
Turn off your UAC from control panel user accounts control- leave it off.
Turn off your antivirus firewall stuff
then try to reinstall act if still having problem.
