When my operating system crashed I had the disk wiped and XP reinstalled. Then I reinstalled all my applications, incl. ACT 7. I have been uable to import the backed up databases back into ACT. They are from the same version. When importing a message appears "Error in the application" with no further direction. Any ideas?

The database was lifted off the hard drive before wiping it. I reinstalled ACT with the same disc as had been used before. Before posting my question on this board, I had gone back to my authorized computer service center, which had done the work. They said the information is there, but they could not import it either.
