Importing Excel price lists into opportunities

I have seen similar questions asked but I have yet to get a sucessful import after two weeks of trying so I though I should seek some expert advise. All of my vendor price lists are transmitted to me into excel and I would like to import them into opportunities. I have saved a trial price list as both csv and txt and have saved into the four columns that are suggested with and without column headings. No matter what tweaks I have made to the files I continue to get the "could not find any valid product in the ...... file" message. I have over 2000 price items to enter so I really don't want to have to enter them manually but I do am not not sure what I am doing wrong on the import. FYI, I am runing ACT! 2009 v 11.0 with Excel 2003.

Thank you

It is likely that the formatting is not what ACT! expects, possibly surplus characters. Have you read this Knowledge Base article? http://tinyurl.com/7wnkc2.

Failing that it would be best to contact a local ACT! Consultant to assist you.
