Importing Data from Excel

I'm trying to import data from Excel via a text delimited file.  Everything goes well and the system states that the data will be imported.  I'm then returned to the DB and the cursor is on one particular contact that has some type of key in the far left hand column.  No other contact has this feature.  Each time I've tried this, the data does not import.  I believe it has something to do with this one contact (which is the employee who created this database).

I'd appreciate any help with this.

Re: Importing Data from Excel

*** Make sure you backup your database before trying any import

Do any of the records get imported?
Have you tried turning off duplicate checking to see if that's the cause?
What version of ACT! (full build from help | about)?
What ver of Excel?

You might try the import to the demo database or a new database... just to make sure it's not the application or Excel

Re: Importing Data from Excel

None of my records are importing.  I have a very small database and I'm trying to import two records only (as a test).  I know they are not duplicates.

I'm new to this company, I was told that ACT was updated last month; however when I boot up, I see "2009 Sage".  I'm importing a CSV file from 2010 Excel.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Deb

Re: Importing Data from Excel

ACT! 2009 doesn't handle Office 2010

Try exporting the Excel to CSV and importing that
