I would like to know if it's possible to import data from excel to some contacts on my ACT 2009 database?
My idea is to have a excel list with contacts, usernames/passwords and make ACT import that data to the fields I need.
Like, 3 excel rows Contact / User 1 / User 2, the lines are the target contacts, is imported to Contact / User 1 / User 2.
Is this possible?
Thanks in advance.

Yes this is possible.
You need to have at least one field to match on that has the same value in Excel and in Act. Set your duplicate matching criteria to that field. Save your Excel file as a csv. Import using Merge as your merge options.
See this KB article for more information.

First, thanks a lot for the link.
I fully understood what the link explains but I can't seem to make the CSV file work.
I used the exported Excel file that ACT makes and then I saved it with the changes to CSV format, is this wrong?
In step 5 of 7, the mapping, the CSV file only appears with only one field that has all the fields like text, it's shouldn't be this way and every field of the csv should appear listed in dropdown menus like the "map to this field" option.
Still trying to solve this...

Already tried it but the problem remains the same.
All the fields on the CSV still appear as only one in the mapping menu.
I'm using Excel 2007, don't know if this matters or not...

Also note that this will only add if the fields are empty. I can't update data in fields.
If you need to do that, you'll need an add-on such as itImport - http://www.glcomputing.com.au/main/57/1
