IMPORTING CONTACTS HAS STOPPED WORKING

I've spent some time importing a spreadsheet then deleting the contacts, then re importing after making layout changes etc. I have finally finished editing the feilds and had the customised import working perfectly. Then all of a sudden the software stops importing any data and says import finished, but there are no contacts.

 

Why is this?

 

I have deleted them all using the list view, tag all and delete, so the list is empty, but it wont bring the files back in as it had done 40 times prviously.

 

It finds the files in the spreadsheet as the mapping screen has them all paired perfectly.

Try closing ACT, then reopening it and running Database Maintenance.  This will clear up the index.  Try your import again.  And you might try turning off duplicate checking - but only do that if you are sure you don't have the same contacts in your database.
