I have 2010, need a new license, can I mix 2011 and 2010 users

We have 5 users with Act 2010. I need to add another licnese. I can only purchase 2011 licenses. Can I have a user on 2010 and 2011? Will 2011 read 2010 database?

You can still purchase 2010 licenses, so you have a choice.  However, all computers need to be on the same version of ACT - no mix and match..  Pricing is better on 2011 ACT as there are discuonts available.

Speak to an ACT! Consultant (like Jon above)... he'd be able to get you an extra lic for ACT! 2010 or show you the advantages and special pricing to go to 2011

Does Sage allow downgrade rights like Microsoft does?

I leave Jon to answer that... I don't think so.

Sage do allow free upgrades if you purchase within a period (I think 60 days) of a new release. But, I think, if you get the old one after release and then want to upgrade, you have to pay

MS only started downgrade rights with Vista... they wanted the retail outlets to have the new version, but so many had problems, they had to allow it. I don't think they still allow it except for large corporates.

That would need to come from Sage Corporate.  I can steer you to the correct person if you wish.
