I don't want History records auto created for certain actions

I would like to avoid having History records created for such actions as Field Changed and Contact Linked.  Is there a way to control this?  I only want History created from.the closing of tasks such as Call Completed, To Do Done, Meeting Held, etc.

I use Pro v17, single user.  Local database.  Windows 8.1

Thanks!

In Tools | Define Fields, you can select which fields generate a history when changed ...

Thank you!  One thing I can't figure out is how to turn off the "Contact Linked" /  "Contact Linked to Company" history (neither Contact nor Company has Generate History checked).  Thanks again!

Thanks David, I didn't know that option was there.
