I cannot enter in my database, they ask for the administrator

When I try to enter in my database they pop me : To finalize the registration, the database administrator must login first.

I am the administrator of the computer ans I use Act 2008 on Vista.

Thank you for your help,

I feel your pain.
The same thing happens to me.

My database was never password protected and now it is.
It is a system problem.

I have had zero luck with the ACT people helping with this problem!

Pete,
Your computer is requiring administrative privilages to perform the registration. Right click on the ACT! icon and choose "run as"

Now here is the tricky part you need to have a user name and password that have administrative privilages on your local machine, this may be a local account on your computer or in a corporate network it may be driven by a domain security setting.

Thanks but I am the administrator of the computer. I also desactvated the control in user preferences. I tried to restaure the backup and it still the same thing...

Is there a place where the database can be blocked?? or Locked??

Are you in a windows domain? The solution to this 100% of the 20 times I've seen this has been a user rights issue.

Re: I cannot enter in my database, they ask for the administrator

Yes, I'm the adminisatrator of the database but I created it on another computer. I change the computer and I upgrade to act 2008.

When I try to enter, they don't ask me my user name they simple pop the message. I know something like that happen before and the database was blocked for somme reason. I'm pretty sure it's a security code but I need to unblocked it.

Thanks
