I can not Load my ACT database

Hello ACT Users-

My laptop melted on 12.1.11. I had to restore it back to factory specs. I then reloaded ACT and then restored my ACT database from my Carbonite. My ACT will not load my database-I have tried for 3 months now to load my ACT database into ACT and can not understand it?

I have had ACT since 1992-I can not believe how hard it has become-

Please help-

Thanks,

Re: I can not Load my ACT database

Hello Mark,

Welcome to the Sage ACT! Online Community!

First I have to mention that Carbonite may or may not have successfully copied your database files.  The Microsoft SQL Server program locks the database files and may have prevented Carbonite from copying them.

The files you need are the 'databasename.ADF', 'databasename.ALF', and 'databasename-Database Files' folder.  You do not need the PAD file.  With these 3 pieces of the database, you can launch Sage ACT! and open the database using the ADF file (File > Open Database > change Files of Type to ADF).  This will recreate the PAD file for future use.
