Hyperlinks to Documents on Server

Can ACT store a hyperlink to a document file located on our server, rather than storing the file itself?

Yes you can, when you click Add Document on the doucments tab, choose shortcut instead of file.

Re: Hyperlinks to Documents on Server

You can also use a URL field to do this.  Just format the link to be like this:

file://server/share/FileName.txt

Of course, you only get one filename per field, so it's not really useful for accessing many documents - for that you'd use the proper Attach Link under the Documents tab.  I have no idea if this is useful at all, it's just something I figured out one day...

Now I remember why I did this - if you leave off the filename, you can point to a directory - which is what I use to quickly get to a clients directory on my machine...
