We have had an issue where ACT had frozen on a PC when deleting an entry, application closed, and it seems that all but 11 contacts and a few companies have been lost, including all calendar entries. Unfortunately, there was no recent backup to go back to.
We have performed a backup through ACTDIAG, and the backup file is over 6gb in size.
From this, we have performed a re-index and re-build of the database, and also tried re-storing the new backup to a new database.
Has anybody any idea how we can get some information back?

We specialize in database repairs & recovery. We often piece together older backups if that's all we have to work with. The 6 gig ActDiag might just contain attachments but hopefully there is some data in there.

Try backing up without attachments, that will indicate how much actual data is left. I have seen where a lookup has ben deleted instead of a record but this does not normally delete companies as well. Karen is very good at what she does so I would say let her take a look.
