How to move Act v18 database to another pc if the original OS cannot be started anymore?

Hi Guys,

We are in a huge trouble.

Due to some kind of unknown problem we cannot boot our Windows Vista Act server anymore.  The data is present on both disks in raid 1 however Windows cannot be started anymore as the boot files are corrupted.

Is it possible to move the database to a PC with Windows 10 if we don't have the backup of the database and we cannot make one now because we cannot start the computer? As I said we have the two disk with the file system but Windows cannot be started.

Hi Cerruti,

Yes this is possible. Just follow the instruction in the following Knowledgebase article. Don't worry about detaching the database from SQL as this isn't possible without the OS running.
