How to close act file open in SQL server (ACT7)

How do I close an act file open in SQL server (ACT7)?

Using Task Manager the ACT program and ACT services were closed.

I was restoring as a zip file and caused the installation to be interrupted.

Other information that may be useful, the zip file was renamed before the restore as was performed.

Re: How to close act file open in SQL server (ACT7)

Hi John,

I'm not sure what you mean by close an Act! file?

You can detatch a database by opening the run dialog by pressing Win + R and typing ActDiag.exe - in ActDiag, you can go to the Database list and right click and detach the database you want to remove from SQL. This will free the files up from being 'in use'.

Please be careful when using ActDiag as it does provide some options that can result in data loss if used improperly, if you're unsure for anything make sure your data is securely backed up first.
