How to check if contact exists in both groups

Hi there,

Let's say I have two groups of contacts. How do I search for contacts that are present in the 1st AND 2nd one?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: How to check if contact exists in both groups

Hello Chaykin,

If you want to see if a particular contact is in more than one group, then just click on the group membership tab to see the groups, both static and dynamic, that the person belongs.

With the tools that come with ACT, I'm not sure there is a way to determine that internally; however, if you select a group, create a lookup, and then export to Excel, you can then combine excel sheets and sort by contact looking for duplicates.

Maybe there is a better way, but that is what first came to mind for me.  Good luck.

Re: How to check if contact exists in both groups

I think I managed to do it somehow myself. There is a "User 1" field associated with contacts. I opened up a lookup of the 1st group and edited all contacts in there to have a value "1" in that field. Then I opened up a lookup of the 2nd group, sorted that by "User 1" column and omitted contacts which had that field empty. Smiley Happy
