How do i Transfer a DB from Act 5 into Act 10

Transfer DB from Act 5.0.0.178 to Act 10.0.1.179?

I have the back up file from the old Act version 5.0.0.178.

I just bought and installed ACT 10.0.1.199.

How do i add it to the new version including all the documents.

Thanks,

Open ACT! 10, go to file and restore, choose your ACT! 5 database and follow the prompts. It will make you change the name to something else.

Ok, I dont want to step on anyones toes - but that is not how you would convert a version 5 database.

What you will need to do is work with your original v5 database files rather than the backup (.zip), Make sure that they are on the machine that has v10 installed.

In ACT! v10 go to File -> Open Database.

Change the 'files of type' value from *.PAD to *.DBF (act v5 format). Now attempt to open your version 5 *.DBF file to prompt the conversion wizard

You may also find the following article of some use.

One side note, if you encounter errors through the conversion you may need to upgrade 5 -> 6 -> 10

Kind regards,
