History - Time Spent

History - Time Spent

Hello all

 

I have been using Act! for awhile but haven't really spent any time using reports and now have a client that needs to have a tally of the record "Total time  15 minute(s)". For instance, I am running a report for a single user and want to get the total hours this user has spent on the phone. Is there a way to do this?

You can't get a total for one type of activity in the ACT! reports.

 

I created a report using the Crystal Clear Essential product/History report format. I created the report to show the time spent for each activity. CCE uses Crystal Report to produce the reports. You can do a lot of with Crystal Reports.

Judy, I have to disagree with you. I can easily develop separate totals for each different history type using VB scripting in an ACT! report.. There isn't any need to use Crystal reports for that.

It can be done. It requires using VB script programming in the ACT! report to accumulate the totals.

Hi Roy,

 

It doesn't come in an ACT! standard report.  You can do this with VB programming within the report.

 

In either cases, you have to customize a report to get the information.

 

I just like CCE, because it gives you other reports a sales manager might want to manage their team.

Hi,

It would be nice when there is a function reference of what functions can be used in the Expression section.

The history Time spent report seems to work fine but at that report i cannot see how it calculates the total spent time.

 

I created a report that groups the activity type field. I would like to know for each type the total time spent. In the expression field i tried the Sum(function) but that only works when using the replace(function) to filter out the minutes text that is used. But then again it does not work when the word hour is also involved.

 

Is there a Visual basic example available for this?

 

Else i think I will also try Crystal reports.
