Help setting up remote user in different country ACT 2005 V7

Hi all,

 

I am hosting the main ACT DB here in Washington State.  Need to allow for a remote user in Canada to log on as well and hopefully share the database live.  Is this possible?  I was not able to find a How-To or FAQ on the subject.  I appreciate your help.

That setup shouldn't be a problem. However, you will need one ACT! license for each named user and licenses are no longer available for ACT! 2005.

Hello Roy,

 

We do have 5 licenses.  Can they be deactivated from one of our old machines and applied to a new one?  If not, we do have working machines with ACT installed were all running on an internal server at one location.  What I would like to do I send a machine up to Canada and be able to share data the same as we could when both machines were under the same roof with a hardwire network.


Ideas?
