Help Group Send In Outlook Using ACT! Phone Book

I hope someone has an answer to this:

ACT Ver 10

With Outlook selected as the eMail program, I can't figure out how to send an eMail to a selected group in the ACT! phonebook.  Help?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: Help Group Send In Outlook Using ACT! Phone Book

I found my own solution.  The problem is putting a square peg in a round hole.

I was trying to click on the "To" button in the Outlook eMail dialogue box and being given an option to select a group, like one can do when using an Outlook phone book.  It was just a matter of changing my perspective.

There are two ways, that I finally read and understood today:

1.  Just click on the group and then click on eMail message and all the members of the group are automatically loaded.

2.  Click on mail merge and the wizard will get to a point where you are asked to send to a group and select which group it is.

John,

Wouldn't it make more sense to create a template in Act! and then do a mail merge to e-mail?  That way you can choose a specific group to lookup and then merge.

Re: Help Group Send In Outlook Using ACT! Phone Book

The theme on this board seems to strongly recommend not to use the ACT! eMail client.  I agree with you that it is very easy to use groups when ACT! is the client.

So, maybe what I'm hearning is that Outlook should be opted for except when you need to take advantage of such things as eMail merge or eMail to groups.

Thank you for your response.
