This did not help us. Still got the same error msg. "Value cannot be null"! Running ACT! by Sage 2010 Version 12.1.181.0, Hot Fix 1.

Check the username for act and the MY Record for each contact record are the same name

this can only be changed on the contact record

Compare via Tools Menu > Manage Users (you need to be an administrator to open this function)

Hi Bronwyn,

 this can happen if you have a field that is required, but when being copied doesn't get a value.

i.e. you've made a field required (not allow blank), but when you copy it doesn't copy all values, this field is therefore blank, you get an error.
