Help! Can't open database

I am running ACT Sage ACT! Premium 2013 Version 15.0.301.0.  For some reason I can'y open my orginal database.  ACT opens, but when I click on the database name, it does nothing.  The weird thing is that all my data is now in the DEMO database.  The layouts are changed and my groups are gone.  The database is there,,, it just won't open.

So what did you do on your pc just before this happened?

Very Very strange that your db data would be/could be in another database without someone doing something.

Do you have a database backup? that would be vey nice to have rite now.

Are you a single user? multi user? is your datbase a rdb(remote database)?

your act should be on servicepak1/hotfix 4 - manually get it here http://act.com/support/downloads/sage-act-premium-2013/

Then, Manually check for Windows updates and apply as needed.

 

Without knowing more about who did what, I'm guessing but I would try

close act / Stop and restart your ac7 sql service ( start / run / services.msc ).. re-open your desired act db

still have probs?

if yes

try deleting your db .pad file and open your .adf file( a new .pad file will be re-created)..

Still have problem

if yes,

close act and run actdiag

  run a db Rebuild options.

    then option to detach the db and close actdiag

open your db .adf file - your db will be verified and hopefully resolved.

Hi Bill,

 

I am the single user..  Been using ACT forever and had never seen this.. 

 

Do you do remote repairs?  

 

If so, how much would it cost?

Update on Resolve.

Basically, Bob just needed to delete his .pad file and open desired db with his .adf file.
